Omega-3 Vegan contains a pure vegetable algae oil. The basis for the oil is the microalgae Schizochytrium sp. Omega-3 Vegan is 100% vegan and comes directly from the algae. This, it is ideal for everyone who does not want to eat animal food.
This algae oil is produced completely separately from the Norsan Omega-3 fish oil.
Due to the high omega-3 content in Omega-3 Vegan, there is a sufficient supply of the marine omega-3 fatty acids, EPA, DHA and DPA.
For vegans and vegetarians it has been difficult to find the precious omega-3 fatty acids, EPA, DHA and DPA, as they occur predominantly in fat cold water fish.
Now there is a herbal alternative, which also originates from the sea and forms the basis of nutrition for omega-3-rich fish: the purely vegetable marine microalga Schizochytrium sp.
This type of algae is particularly rich in the marine fatty acids EPA, DHA and DPA.
Conventional herbal omega-3 sources, such as linseed oil and walnuts, are rich in alpha-linolenic acid (ALA), but only a small amount of this omega-3 fatty acid ALA is converted by the human body (conversion factor 2-5%) into the important omega-3 fatty acids EPA, DHA and DPA.
These are particularly valuable for the body for several reasons:
EPA helps our body maintain normal blood fat levels and blood pressure levels, as well as support healthy heart function.
DHA supports the brain function and development of the brain as well as the maintenance of normal vision.
DPA may help support healthy inflammation management, the healthy formation of blood vessels and may help inhibit thrombosis in women.
Due to the low conversion factor, the intake of linseed oil and walnuts is not enough for an adequate supply of the important marine Omega-3.
With Omega-3 Vegan made from algae oil you get a 100% herbal alternative, which also contains the marine Omega-3 fatty acids EPA, DHA and DPA.
What Omega-3 Vegan offers you:
• 2,000 mg omega-3 fatty acids per day ( using a 5 ml teaspoon )
More than 3,000 fatty acid analysis tests show that 2,000 mg of Omega-3 fatty acids each day can correct an Omega-6/3 imbalance.
• Vegetable algae - rich in EPA, DHA and DPA
The marine microalga Schizochytrium sp. forms the basis for the Omega-3 Vegan
The special feature of this algae form is that it is very rich in the marine Omega-3 fatty acids EPA, DHA and DPA.
The European Food Safety Agency ( EFSA ) allows the following health claims:
- EPA and DHA contribute to the normal function of the heart, with a daily intake of 250 mg
- DHA contributes to maintenance of normal vision, with a daily intake of 250 mg
- DHA contributes to the maintenance of normal blood triglyceride levels, with a daily intake of 2 grams of DHA in combination with EPA. The total should not exceed a daily intake of more than 5 grams of DHA and EPA combined.
- DHA and EPA contribute to the maintenance of normal blood pressure. The beneficial effect is obtained with a daily intake of 3 grams of DHA and EPA. The total should not exceed a daily intake of more than 5 grams of DHA and EPA combined.
- DHA and EPA provide a beneficial effect for pregnant women, contributing to the normal development of the brain and eyes of the baby. The beneficial effect is obtained with a daily intake of at least 250 mg of DHA and EPA that provides at least 200 mg of DHA
- DHA contributes to the normal visual development of infants up to 12 months of age. The beneficial effect is obtained with a daily intake of 100 mg of DHA
High-quality raw materials and the unique refinement of the algae oil serve as a basis for the pleasant taste and the very good freshness value of the oil. (1)
• Environmentally friendly and sustainable
By cultivating the marine microalgae we care for the natural ecosystem of the sea as well as the fish and krill stocks.
• 100% vegan
The vegan omega-3 oil contains only herbal ingredients and is therefore ideal for everyone who wants to avoid animal food.

PRODUCTION
Cultivation of the algae:
The marine microalga Schizochytrium sp. is environmentally friendly and grown in sustainable containers. The algae is fermented in a water-based environment. The crude product is placed in a centrifuge, then dried and finally the oil is extracted and refined.
Olive oil:
The olives are gently harvested, and the processing is carried out within a maximum of 4 hours. They are then cold pressed to preserve the natural ingredients. The olive oil comes from controlled organic cultivation and has a high content of polyphenols, which are important antioxidants.
Together with the omega-3 fatty acids this creates a positive synergistic health effect, which is very close to that of eating fish.
ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY AND SUSTAINABLE
The manufacturing process of the Omega-3 is sustainable and environmentally friendly. The marine microalgae that are used for the Omega-3 Vegan are cultivated in low-pollutant containers. Through this cultivation the fish resources are spared and the food basis for fish is preserved, since fish also enrich their omega-3 content with algae.
Due to the high omega-3 content in the Omega-3 Vegan, there is a sufficient supply of the marine omega-3 fatty acids, EPA, DHA and DPA. Thus the natural ecosystem of the oceans is preserved and the fish and krill stocks are spared.
Norsan Omega is committed to the protection of the world's oceans They are aware of the responsibility towards the sea, which is why they want to support non-profit organizations working to protect the oceans. From the beginning of the year 2017, they have donated 15 Euro cents to these non-profit organisations for each bottle sold .
Fresh algae oil smells good ... and tastes good.
The degree of oxidation of omega-3 products is indicated by the TOTOX value (TOTal OXidation). This indicates the freshness of the oil. If the oil is rancid, the TOTOX value is higher. The guideline value 26 is a maximum value, which is set by the GOED and should not be exceeded.
Try the Odour test: Open a bottle or capsule and smell it. Oxidized oil smells unpleasant and it often creates a burp.
Credentials
Norsan Omega is the first company in Europe to use the integrated fatty acid testing method, which comprises the measurement, analysis and regulation of the fatty acids in the body. Their laboratory partner Omegametrix (Munich) enables the measurement of erythrocyte values using dried blood from the finger (as a self-test).
The Norsan Omega oils are appreciated by many doctors, pharmacists and other experts as preferred Omega-3 oils, due to the high Omega-3 content, purity and good taste. In addition, they are working with a number of professional associations such as the International Society of Mayr Physicians, the Academy of Human Medicine and the International Society for Homeopathy and Homotoxicology.
In 2015, Norsan Omega-3 was approved by the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) as an omega-3 preparation and selected for a new study *. Topic: "Structural and functional changes of the neural system of the aging brain". The study was conducted and paid by ETH. San Omega oil was independently selected for its excellent properties.
How much Omega-3 fatty acids do we need ?
EACPR: 1-2 meals of fatty fish per week
ISSFAL: at least 500 mg EPA+DHA per day
SGE: 250 mg of Omega-3 fatty acids per day
WHO: 1-2% of your energy intake per day from 1.5-3 g of Omega-3 *
DGE: up to 3 g EPA+DHA per day

The amount of Omega-3 that you need depends on your diet. Your individual requirements for Omega-3 can be determined with the help of the Norsan-Omega self-test for the analysis of your fatty acid profile and your Omega-3 Index. You just need to put a few drops of blood onto the sample paper and send it to the independent laboratory. Within a few days you will receive information about your:
Omega-3 Index > 8% Indicator for heart health
Omega-6/3 Ratio < 3:1 Indicator for Inflammation from food
Trans fat content
Omega-3 fatty acids are among the polyunsaturated fatty acids and are also referred to as essential fatty acids, since we can only absorb them through food. These essential fatty acids - and especially your Omega-6/3 Ratio - play an important role in your health, as they regulate inflammatory processes in your body.
